Composition
Part of the 2005 Series 7 Sweet collection exploring gourmand themes. Honey, pistachio and almond open onto an iris heart, settling on milk, sugar and myrrh. A comforting, bakery-sweet composition in the house's anti-perfume spirit.
This is the smell of standing inside a mithai shop at 7 in the morning, before the shutters fully open. Someone is roasting pistachios and almonds in ghee somewhere behind the counter, honey is being drizzled over something warm, and the air is thick with sugar and hot milk. Then there's this strange powdery coolness underneath — like iris dusted over everything — and a faint resinous myrrh that keeps it from becoming childish. It smells like comfort that refuses to apologize for itself. Weirdly edible, weirdly elegant. Beginner-friendly.
