Scent story

To me this smells like walking into a timber godown in the hills, the kind where deodar planks are stacked floor to ceiling and sawdust hangs in the light like slow snow. Black pepper and incense crackle at the door, like someone just burned agarbatti in the corner, and then the wood takes over — cedar pencil shavings, sandalwood cream, a deep resinous guaiac that smells almost like warm honey on bark. There is oud in the back, dark and animalic, breathing under everything like a sleeping animal. It settles into dry vetiver and patchouli, the smell of an old trunk full of woolens in a Kumaon winter. Dense, serious, beautiful — but it demands a room that respects it. Not for beginners — beginners stay away.
