Legend by Montblanc is an aromatic fougère for men launched in April 2011, created by Olivier Pescheux and Céline Perdriel. The composition opens with lavender, pineapple, bergamot and lemon verbena, develops a heart of red apple, dried fruits, oakmoss, geranium, coumarin and rose, and dries down to tonka bean and sandalwood. The heavy black-and-metal bottle is inspired by the Meisterstück pen design.
Scent story
To me this smells like a man who has his life together walking into a meeting five minutes early. Lavender and bergamot open crisp and professional, then pineapple and red apple add this juicy, almost playful sweetness, like a secret he is keeping. Oakmoss and geranium keep it grounded and masculine, and the tonka and sandalwood dry-down is pure comfort — warm, smooth, familiar. It is the definition of a crowd-pleaser, and there is no shame in that. Lemon verbena flashes through the opening like a clean white smile. Beginner-friendly.
