Composition
Lady Emblem L'Eau, launched in 2017 and created by Sonia Constant, is the lightest flanker of Lady Emblem. Mandarin leaf, white peach and lychee open over a heart of rose and magnolia, drying down to precious musks, blonde cedar and benzoin. The pastel-green juice was inspired by a summer garden.
To me this is a morning on a Kerala houseboat — mandarin leaves and white peach in a bowl on the table, lychee juice beading with cold, and rose and magnolia drifting in off the water. The blonde cedar and benzoin underneath are the wooden deck, sun-warmed and smooth. The mandarin leaf is green and slightly bitter, like tearing a leaf in half, and the blonde cedar underneath is pale wood, smooth as a new pencil — everything here is light and clean. The lightest of the Lady Emblems, and the loveliest: water, fruit, and white flowers, worn like a wet-look linen shirt. Beginner-friendly.
