Dried Fruits
Dried fruits evoke concentrated sweetness, figs, dates, raisins, apricots dried in the sun, all honeyed depth and chewy richness. In perfumery they bring a warm, opulent fruitiness to orientals, ambers and winter gourmands. The drying concentrates sugars and adds caramelised complexity. In Indian winters, dried fruit notes are magnificent in rich evening scents, their honeyed depth glowing in cool air. Strictly for cool weather, they would overwhelm in heat. Liquid autumn.
