Composition
From the 2005 Series 7 Sweet collection. Corn mint and artemisia open into green tea and geranium leaf, over sugar, smoky and woody notes in the drydown. A smoky-sweet tea scent with an outdoorsy edge.
To me this smells like a nomad camp at first light, when someone crushes fresh mint between their palms and drops it into a blackened kettle over an open fire. The artemisia is bitter-green, almost medicinal, like wild herbs trampled under boots, and then the green tea arrives — not the polite kind, but strong campfire tea, poured too hot, sweetened with a spoonful of raw sugar that caramelises at the edges. Later the smoke settles in properly, woodsmoke caught in a woollen shawl, with dry woody notes underneath like the inside of a cedar chest. It is sweet but never soft — there is always that outdoorsy bite keeping it honest, like wind coming off the steppe through the tent flap. Beginner-friendly.
