Composition
Daniela Andrier's 1997 airy floral. Basil, black currant and mandarin open over honeysuckle, jasmine, cherry blossom and iris, with a fruity-woody base of blackberry, vetiver, cedar, sandalwood and tonka. Optimistic and green-floral.
To me this is a summer garden at 5pm — basil crushed between your fingers, black currants warm off the bush, mandarin and magnolia heavy in the air. Honeysuckle, jasmine, and cherry blossom tangle overhead, iris powdery in the shade, and blackberry and soft woods ground it all in the earth. The blackberry at the base is dark and jammy, grounding all that airy blossom, and the tonka adds a warm hay-like sweetness — like the garden is telling you to stay for dinner. The world is beautiful, and for once the perfume agrees: green, floral, and easy as a long evening. Beginner-friendly.
