Mandarin Orange
“Sweet, soft citrus with a candy-like juiciness — the gentlest and most delicate of the citrus fruits.”
Mandarin orange is the sweetest, softest member of the citrus family in perfumery, smelling juicy, sunny and gently candied without the sharp bite of lemon or grapefruit. Its oil comes from the peel and carries a lovely rounded sweetness with a faint floral undertone. Perfumers love it for fresh, fruity-floral and gourmand-adjacent openings where they want brightness without acidity. It is less common than bergamot but more comforting. In Indian weather, mandarin shines in winter and pleasant spring days, when its sunny sweetness feels warm and inviting. In peak summer it can feel a little heavy compared to sharper citruses, but it rarely turns sour. A wonderful choice for daytime wear when you want freshness with a smile.
