Lalique Pour Homme is the house's first masculine fragrance, composed by Maurice Roucel. It opens with lavender, rosemary and a citrus accord of grapefruit, bergamot, pomelo, mandarin and tangerine. The heart pairs iris, jasmine and lily-of-the-valley with cedar, over a base of oakmoss, sandalwood, vanilla, patchouli and amber.
Scent story
To me this smells like a French gentleman's study in 1997, frozen in amber. Lavender and rosemary lead — classic, barbershop-fresh, the scent of a straight razor and a steady hand — over a bright citrus accord of grapefruit and bergamot that sparkles like cut crystal. The heart goes woody and powdery, cedar and iris like old books and clean shirts, and the base is oakmoss and sandalwood with a warm vanilla glow, patchouli keeping it grounded. It is old-school in the way a well-cut suit is old-school. Timeless, and it knows it. Beginner-friendly.
