Composition
Lalique de Lalique is the house's debut feminine fragrance, composed by Sophia Grojsman. Jasmine, iris, rose and cloves open the composition, followed by a fruity heart of pear, blackberry and cassis. Sandalwood, white musk and vanilla form the base.
To me this smells like a 1992 dinner party in the best possible way. The opening is a full bouquet — jasmine, iris, rose, with cloves giving it a warm spicy wink — like walking into a room of flowers and perfume and laughter. Then the fruit arrives: pear, blackberry, cassis, juicy and dark, and the sandalwood-musk-vanilla base is pure comfort, a velvet chair by the fire. It is unapologetically feminine and generous, from an era when perfumes dared to be big. Beginner-friendly.
