Composition
Olivier Cresp's 2011 graffiti-inspired flanker of Flower by Kenzo. Mandarin, blackcurrant and rhubarb open over peony, lily-of-the-valley and jasmine, with tea, vanilla and white musk. Youthful, fruity-floral and free-spirited.
To me this smells like a college girl with paint on her jeans laughing in the rain. Mandarin, blackcurrant and rhubarb open tart and electric — juicy, green, a little wild — over peony, lily-of-the-valley and jasmine that smell like flowers bought from a street vendor, fresh and unpretentious. There's tea in the base, which makes the whole thing feel like a rainy afternoon. Vanilla and white musk soften it into something cozy at the end. It's the graffiti-spirited younger sister of a classic: youthful, fruity-floral, and free in a way that feels honest rather than marketed. Beginner-friendly.
