Composition
Alberto Morillas' 2003 intense parfum edition of Flower. Black currant opens over almond, violet and rose, with vanilla, white musk and amber. Warmer, more resinous and syrupy than the original.
To me this smells like a vintage powder room — silk, low light, secrets. Black currant opens dark and syrupy, like berries crushed in champagne, and then the powder descends: almond, violet, rose, soft as face powder on skin. Vanilla, white musk and amber warm it into something rich and enveloping, like being wrapped in an old fur stole. Warmer, deeper, more resinous than the original — this is Flower after midnight, and she's magnificent. This is the one you reach for when the evening deserves better than the everyday.
