Composition
Alberto Morillas' 2015 gourmand celebration of 15 years of Flower by Kenzo. Raspberry and mandarin open over Bulgarian rose and orange blossom, with praline, Bourbon vanilla and powdery notes. Addictive, sweet and radiant.
To me this smells like the patisserie inside a flower market — raspberry and mandarin bright as morning, Bulgarian rose and orange blossom laid out in buckets, and then praline and bourbon vanilla rolling out of the oven behind the counter. Powdery and gourmand at once, like rose petals dusted with sugar. The powdery notes make it smell like the inside of a fancy sweet box, and the bourbon vanilla is dark and boozy — this is gourmand with its hair pinned up and its best jewels on. It is Flower by Kenzo dressed for a wedding: sweet, floral, and impossible not to love. Beginner-friendly.
