Composition
Week End is a feminine eau de toilette from Parfums de Nicolaï, launched in 2011 and composed by Patricia de Nicolaï. A fresh floral-green evoking a holiday in Deauville, Normandy, it blends mint, basil and tarragon with galbanum, lily-of-the-valley, granny smith apple, calone, jasmine, ylang-ylang and cardamom. Musk, Virginia cedar and leather complete the base.
To me this smells like a holiday that starts with breakfast in a garden. Mint, basil and tarragon burst green and fresh — an herb garden after watering — with galbanum adding that sharp, almost wild greenness, like crushed stems between fingers. The Granny Smith apple and calone keep it breezy and aquatic, lily-of-the-valley and jasmine soft and white, cardamom warming the edges, and the musk-cedar base is clean skin with the faintest whisper of leather — a handbag left on a sunny bench. Pure, green, happy. Beginner-friendly.
