Composition
Cap Néroli is a unisex eau de toilette from Parfums de Nicolaï, launched in 2018 and composed by Patricia de Nicolaï. A tribute to bitter-orange cultivation on the Côte d'Azur, it opens with petitgrain, rosemary, orange, bergamot, mint and mandarin. The heart features neroli, orange blossom, jasmine, ylang-ylang and hedione, with oakmoss, musk and vanilla at the base.
To me this is the French Riviera in a bottle — petitgrain, rosemary, and mint off the hillsides, orange and bergamot bright as the awnings in Menton. Neroli and orange blossom bloom in the heat, jasmine and ylang swaying, and oakmoss, musk, and vanilla underneath are the old stone walls, warm at dusk. The hedione is airy jasmine, like flowers seen through gauze, and the vanilla at the base is barely-there sweetness — the whole Riviera, distilled to its essence. Patricia de Nicolaï's love letter to the bitter-orange tree: green, floral, and endlessly wearable. Beginner-friendly.
