Composition
The 2013 Christmas edition of Pleats Please L'Élixir, an eau de parfum for women. Gardenia and heliotrope open over sweet pea, peony and white flowers. The base blends vanilla, patchouli and cedar.
To me this smells like a Christmas market made entirely of flowers — gardenia creamy and white, heliotrope powdery as almond icing, sweet pea and peony tumbling like ribbons. White flowers glow against the winter dark, and then vanilla and patchouli wrap everything in a cashmere shawl. Cedar keeps it from floating away, a wooden stall holding all the sweetness. Festive, floral, and warm — like being hugged by someone wearing too much perfume in the best possible way. Beginner-friendly.
