Composition
A 2018 flanker of L'Eau d'Issey Pure presented in a rose-gold drop flacon. Honey, pear and bergamot open onto a heart of rose, water notes and peony. Cashmeran, ambergris, white musk, sandalwood and violet form a soft, woody-musky base.
To me this is a glass of honey over ice by a still pool — honey and pear golden and dripping, bergamot bright on top. Then the flowers float up through water: rose and peony and water notes, weightless and cool, like petals on a pond. The base is cashmeran and ambergris and white musk, sandalwood soft underneath, violet like a shadow on water. It smells like the nectar the name promises — sweet, aquatic, and somehow both rich and transparent. Pure pleasure. Beginner-friendly.
