Composition
A 2012 energetic flanker of L'Eau d'Issey Pour Homme by Jacques Cavallier Belletrud, built around luminous freshness. Grapefruit and bergamot spark over a spicy-leathery heart of nutmeg and leather, drying down to vetiver, Virginia cedar and ambergris. Fresh, dynamic and uncomplicated.
To me this is the five minutes before a match — grapefruit and bergamot like cold air in the lungs, sharp and electric. Then nutmeg warms up over leather, like a kit bag opened in the changing room, spicy and masculine. The base is victory and wood: vetiver, Virginia cedar, ambergris, clean and dry as a trophy cabinet. It is the sport flanker that actually smells like sport — movement, sweat kept elegant, green citrus all the way down. Built for action. Beginner-friendly.
