Composition
The 2014 summer edition of L'Eau d'Issey Pour Homme with the starfish bottle design. Grapefruit, kiwi and pineapple open over nutmeg and coriander. The base blends vetiver and cypress.
To me this smells like the first day of a beach holiday, when you have forgotten everything except the sun. Grapefruit, kiwi and pineapple burst open — juicy, electric, almost neon — like a fruit stall on the sand. It is the smell of a boarding pass and a bad tan line, and it is glorious. Nutmeg and coriander add a warm, spiced depth to the heart, like skin that has been in the sun all day, and vetiver with cypress dries everything down to something green and grounded — shade under the pines after the beach. Pure, uncomplicated summer in a starfish bottle. Beginner-friendly.
