Composition
A 2020 edition by Marie Salamagne inspired by the kolam rice-flour drawings of southern India. Bergamot, grapefruit and cardamom open over green tea and coriander seed, with cashmeran and cedar evoking milky cardamom chai in the base. Fresh, aromatic and softly woody.
To me this smells like morning kolams drawn in rice flour outside a Chennai home — bergamot and grapefruit bright as the first light, cardamom warm like filter coffee brewing inside. Green tea steams gently, coriander green and crisp, and cashmeran smooths it all into soft focus. Cedar dries it down clean and woody, like fresh-cut timber. It is fresh but thoughtful, simple but never boring — a quiet, confident start to any day. The green tea never leaves; it just gets quieter, like the house settling after everyone has gone to work. Beginner-friendly.
