Composition
A 2015 fresh edition of L'Eau d'Issey Pour Homme by Christophe Raynaud, full of energy and dynamism. Grapefruit, bergamot, rosemary, mint, cardamom and sea buckthorn open over mate, May rose, pink pepper and lavender, on a woody base of vetiver, musk and patchouli. Airy, sparkling and brisk.
To me this smells like a cold shower after a morning run along the sea. Grapefruit and bergamot, sharp as citrus ice; mint and rosemary crushed between your palms, green and medicinal in the best way. Sea buckthorn adds this tart, almost electric berry note, like biting into something wild. Mate and lavender keep it herbal, vetiver and musk keep it grounded — like wet earth and clean skin at the same time. It smells like discipline: early alarms, cold water, clear head. The olfactory equivalent of a deep breath. Beginner-friendly.
