Composition
Lalique Le Parfum by Lalique is a 2005 Oriental fragrance for women, composed by Dominique Ropion. It opens with West Indian bay, pink pepper and bergamot, moves through heliotrope, almond and jasmine, and settles into vanilla, tonka bean, sandalwood and patchouli. Lalique's first true oriental, in the signature crystal flacon with a red cord.
This opens with an unusual spicy warmth — bay leaf and pink pepper over bergamot, like a festive spice market. The heart is where it turns luxurious: powdery heliotrope and creamy almond wrapped around soft jasmine, almost like marzipan-dusted flowers. The drydown is deep and oriental — vanilla, tonka, sandalwood and patchouli, warm and enveloping. For Indian winter weddings and evening occasions, this is a hidden gem: rich, distinctive, and far cheaper than it smells. Moderately beginner-friendly — the powdery almond-vanilla is easy to love, though the bay-leaf opening is unusual enough to warrant a sample first.
