Composition
Olivier Polge's 2008 woody-spicy minimalism in a Kenya Hara sake-bottle flacon. Coriander, cardamom and bergamot open over a floral heart, with tolu balsam, labdanum and cedar. Florals marinated in warm resin — a brave, niche-leaning release.
To me this smells like a man who meditates and means it. Coriander and cardamom open dry and herbal — a spice box in a monastery kitchen — with bergamot adding a brief citrus lift. The floral heart is barely there, a whisper of petals pressed in a book. Then the resins arrive: tolu balsam and labdanum warm and ambery, cedar dry as temple wood. It is power without a single raised voice — the opposite of every loud 2008 fragrance. Minimalism that actually smells like something. Beginner-friendly.
