To me this smells like the inside of a chocolate factory sample room — pink pepper and grapefruit snapping awake at the door, and then the whole room turns to hazelnut cocoa spread, thick and nutty, with patchouli and vetiver underneath like dark wooden shelves. Sweet, yes, but the pepper and the woods keep it from ever getting cloying. The grapefruit keeps the opening bright and almost bitter, and the vetiver at the base is dry earth under all that chocolate — like the wooden table the jar sits on. It is breakfast-for-dinner in perfume form — the jar you keep eating from with a spoon. Beginner-friendly.
