Angel is the first modern gourmand fragrance, built around a clash of praline, vanilla and caramel against an earthy patchouli. The opening is a bright mix of cotton candy, coconut, cassis, melon, jasmine, bergamot, pineapple and mandarin orange. The heart turns fruity and honeyed with red berries, blackberry, plum, apricot, peach, honey, nutmeg, caraway, orchid, rose and lily-of-the-valley, before settling into a base of patchouli, chocolate, caramel, vanilla, tonka bean, amber, musk and sandalwood.
Scent story
To me this smells like a night carnival that refuses to end. The opening is pure chaos — cotton candy, pineapple, melon and coconut spinning in bright neon, sticky-sweet and loud enough to hear. Then the lights dim and it gets serious: honey, red berries, caramel and chocolate folding into that famous earthy patchouli, which smells like damp soil under a bonfire. This is the perfume that invented the gourmand category in 1992 and it still doesn't apologize. It fills a room, follows you down the street, and divides every room it enters. Iconic, enormous, and absolutely not a quiet first date. Not for beginners — beginners stay away.
