AmyrisA mouth-watering gourmand oud, the "yummy oud" from Roja. Bergamot and artemisia open into rose de Mai, cistus and a patisserie accord, over cardamom, cumin, gurjum, cypriol, patchouli, cedarwood, guaiacwood, aoud wood, juniper, amyris, frankincense and labdanum.
To me this smells like a patisserie built inside a temple — bergamot and artemisia opening bright, then rose de Mai and a patisserie accord melting into something warm, buttery and sweet, like fresh croissants. But underneath, the aoud wood, frankincense, gurjum and cypriol smolder dark and resinous, with cardamom and cumin adding spice like a masala twist. Sweet and sacred at once. A gourmand for people who find gourmands too simple. The labdanum is dark and ambery, like warm resin on sunbaked stone. Not for beginners — beginners stay away.
