Composition
PetitgrainStar noteOlive BlossomBertrand Duchaufour's fragrant chapter from Denyse Beaulieu's The Perfume Lover: Seville orange blossom, beeswax and lavender over tobacco and frankincense resin. Sensual, honeyed and transportive — a dawn in Andalusia.
To me this smells like the first petitgrain of the season opening on the balcony, with olive blossom drifting in from somewhere down the street. Then orange blossom, beeswax, lavender, tobacco and jasmine drift — deepening by the minute, right on cue. It settles finally into benzoin and olibanum — familiar as home. Some perfumes decorate you; this one feels like a slow Sunday with nowhere to be. Beginner-friendly — wear it anywhere, no lessons required.
