Composition
Bertrand Duchaufour's tribute to Mali's Wusulan love ritual: green mango, pink pepper and cardamom over papyrus smoke and incense, drying down to earthy vetiver, myrrh and patchouli. Exotic, mystical and beautifully wearable.
To me this smells like the ghats at dawn before the crowds, mango, pink pepper and cardamom clean over wet stone. A little later incense, papyrus and karo karounde melt through, rich without shouting. The base of vetiver, myrrh, patchouli and benzoin arrives last, smooth and resinous, and refuses to leave. It smells like the front row of your own life, bottled. Beginner-friendly — the kind of scent strangers ask about.
