Composition
Released in 2003, built around sandalwood absolute. Coriander and nutmeg open into sandalwood and myrrh, over tolu balsam. Creamy, spiced and deeply woody.
This is the inside of a sandalwood carver's workshop in Mysore — coriander and nutmeg dust hanging in the air first, sharp and spicy, then the wood itself: creamy, buttery sandalwood being shaved into curls, with myrrh smoldering in a corner like temple prasad smoke. Tolu balsam rounds it all into something warm and resinous. It is dense and unhurried, the kind of scent that fills a room slowly and stays for hours. No sweetness to hide behind, no freshness to lighten it — just wood, spice, and resin in their most honest form. I wear it when I want to smell like I know exactly who I am. Not for beginners — beginners stay away.
