Composition
Launched in 1996, a marine portrait of the Italian coast. Sea salt and seaweed open into myrtle, settling on cedarwood, driftwood and musk. Salty, green and elemental.
To me this smells like standing on rocks at the edge of the sea with spray on your face — sea salt and seaweed in the first breath, brine sharp in your nose, the way your skin tastes after a swim. Myrtle adds a green, almost eucalyptus snap, like the bushes growing wild on the cliff path. Later it dries into driftwood and cedar — sun-bleached timber, rope, the warm boards of a jetty — with clean musk underneath like a cotton shirt that has dried on a line by the water. Pure coastline.
