Composition
Rose Royale 1935 is the rose opus of Lalique's Noir Premier collection, composed by Sidonie Lancesseur. Peach and apricot open the composition, leading to a heart of osmanthus and rose absolute. The base layers osmanthus with cashmere wood and musk.
To me this smells like a 1930s garden party in full swing — silk dresses, gramophone music, laughter carrying across the lawn. Peach and apricot open juicy and golden, and then the rose arrives: rose absolute, lush and velvety, wrapped in osmanthus with its strange apricot-tea sweetness. Cashmere wood and musk soften the base into something like the inside of a vintage evening glove. It's from Lalique's Noir Premier collection, but there's nothing dark about it — just romance, polished to a high shine. Beginner-friendly.
