Prada's first fragrance for a broader audience, launched in 2004 by Carlos Benaïm, Max Gavarry and Clement Gavarry — winner of the 2005 FiFi Fragrance of the Year Women's Luxe award. An Oriental Woody built on amber, surrounded by Indian sandalwood, Indonesian patchouli, French labdanum resin and Siam benzoin: bergamot, bitter orange, mimosa and mandarin open fresh, rose and patchouli form the heart, and labdanum, tonka bean, vanilla, sandalwood and benzoin settle the base.
Scent story
To me this smells like evening light pouring through the windows of an old Parsi villa in Mumbai, the kind with high ceilings and furniture that has outlived three generations. Bergamot and bitter orange sparkle over mimosa flowers like dust motes in a sunbeam, and then the light deepens — rose and patchouli blooming warm while sandalwood, labdanum and benzoin glow underneath like resin lamps being lit one by one. This is amber as a mood, not a note. It settles into something golden and balsamic that stays on a cashmere shawl for days, rich without ever turning heavy or dark. Beginner-friendly.
