Composition
Antoine Lie's 2002 green floral. Lily-of-the-valley and green notes bloom over hyacinth, jasmine and peony, with white musk and sandalwood. Transparent, glassy and summery.
To me this smells like walking through Lodhi Garden right after the sprinklers have run — lily-of-the-valley and green notes so fresh they feel wet, hyacinth and jasmine blooming white and clean in the heat. Peony adds a soft, watery sweetness, white musk and sandalwood drying it down to something like clean skin and sun-warmed wood. Transparent as glass, green as new leaves. The most summery thing Kenzo ever bottled. Antoine Lie built it transparent as water, and in peak summer heat that transparency is everything. Beginner-friendly.
