Composition
Aura Mugler, launched in 2017 and created by Daphné Bugey, Amandine Clerc-Marie, Christophe Raynaud, Marie Salamagne and Olivier Cresp, is a woody aromatic Eau de Parfum built around rhubarb leaf, tiger liana, orange blossom, bourbon vanilla and wolfwood.
Aura Mugler is Mugler's wildest idea — it opens with a shock of green: rhubarb leaf and bergamot, tart and vegetal like crushed stems between your fingers, then orange blossom and tiger liana turn it exotic and feline. The bourbon vanilla and wolfwood drydown is creamy, smoky and warm, like vanilla pods over a wood fire. It is strange, bold and divisive — people either adore it or recoil — which makes it a personality fragrance rather than a people-pleaser. Not for beginners; this is for the wearer who wants something no one else in the room is wearing, especially striking in Indian winters.
