Composition
L'Insoumis is a woody aromatic fougere composed by Fabrice Pellegrin, dedicated to founder René Lalique. Bergamot, rum and basil open the composition, evolving into a heart of lavender, clary sage and black pepper. Haitian vetiver, patchouli, moss and Clearwood form the base.
To me this smells like a man who reads actual books, in a room with actual wood in it. Bergamot and rum open warm and a little rebellious, basil adds a green bite, then lavender and clary sage settle into that classic fougère calm. Haitian vetiver, patchouli and moss dry it down like the pages of an old novel — earthy, dry, distinguished. Dedicated to René Lalique, and it smells like it: crafted, not manufactured. Black pepper cracks through the lavender heart, a small rebellion in a classic frame. Beginner-friendly.
