To me this smells like steaming rice in a dark kitchen, lit only by something red. Rice steam and soft musks open warm and slightly milky — the most intimate, skin-like opening I know — and then the May rose blooms through it, deep red and velvety. Vanilla, amberever and sandalwood build underneath like embers under silk. It is the scarlet reimagining of a classic, 25 years on, and it wears its sensuality openly: intense, warm, and faintly gourmand, like dessert eaten slowly after midnight. A red silk sari of a scent — impossible to ignore, and not trying to be. Beginner-friendly.
