Composition
The 2022 summer edition of L'Eau d'Issey for women, illustrated by Kevin Lucbert. Watery notes, Calabrian bergamot and neroli open over frangipani, orange blossom and rose. The dry-down combines coconut milk, musk and driftwood.
To me this smells like a watercolour of a beach — all soft edges. Watery notes and Calabrian bergamot, light as sea mist; neroli and orange blossom like white petals floating in a tide pool. Frangipani leans in, creamy and tropical, and coconut milk smooths everything into one long exhale. Driftwood dries in the sun underneath, pale and bleached, with clean musk like a white cotton towel. Nothing here is sharp or loud; it's the smell of floating on your back, ears underwater, sun on your face. Pure, weightless calm. Beginner-friendly.
