Composition
The 2006 summer edition of L'Eau d'Issey for women. Rose water, cyclamen and freesia open over a heart of peony, white pepper and lily-of-the-valley. Woodsy notes and osmanthus form the base.
To me this smells like a hill-station summer — Mahabaleshwar in May, when the strawberries are out and the air is cool enough for a shawl. Rose water, not rose: that pale, green, almost-watery freshness, like splashing your face at a mountain spring. Cyclamen and freesia and peony drift past like flower beds along a walking path. White pepper gives it a tiny sizzle, like distant thunder, and osmanthus adds a whisper of apricot sweetness. It's transparent, weightless — the smell of clean air, cold water, and nowhere to be. The most uncomplicated kind of beautiful. Beginner-friendly.
