Composition
Quentin Bisch's 2025 indigo-dyed flanker of Kenzo Homme. A marine accord opens over powdery iris, with leather, sandalwood and akigalawood. Deep, elegant and quietly nocturnal.
To me this smells like the ocean at midnight, dyed a deeper blue. The marine accord is there — salt, spray, endless water — but the powdery iris drapes over it like evening fog, cool and elegant and a little mysterious. Leather, sandalwood and akigalawood in the base give it a quiet, nocturnal depth. It never shouts; it just stands at the edge of the water, perfectly still, and lets you come to it. There is something almost melancholy about it, in the best way — like a blue hour that refuses to end. Beginner-friendly.
