Composition
Quentin Bisch's 2022 reboot of the masculine classic. Marine notes, calypsone and nutmeg lead into pine and patchouli, grounded by sandalwood and cedar. A modern marine-woody signature in the vertical bamboo-inspired bottle.
To me this smells like a pine forest that runs straight into the sea. The marine notes hit first — salt spray and cold blue air, calypsone adding a strange watery depth — with nutmeg giving it a warm spice, like someone's chai cooling on a rock. Then pine needles take over, green and resinous, patchouli adding an earthy depth underneath. The sandalwood and cedar base is smooth driftwood, warmed by sun. It is the Kenzo Homme spirit rebuilt for now — fresh but with actual backbone, never that thin blue sports-fragrance thing. Beginner-friendly.
