Composition
A deeper 2008 reading of Kenzo Amour by Daphné Bugey. Incense and rice open over frangipani and patchouli, with vanilla, benzoin and amber. Darker, resinous and more intense than the original.
To me this smells like a temple at dusk in a country where the air is always warm. Incense smoke curls through the opening, strange and beautiful, with rice steam rising soft and milky underneath — and then the frangipani blooms, creamy white flowers against dark wood. Patchouli, vanilla, benzoin and amber melt into a resinous, golden base that glows like lamplight. Darker and deeper than the original Amour, but still fundamentally a love story — just one told in candlelight instead of sunshine. Beginner-friendly.
