Composition
The 2023 opening opus of the Ikebana collection, inspired by the Japanese art of flower arrangement. Sakura blossom accord and sobacha tea lead into tuberose and jasmine absolute, over Australian sandalwood, cedarwood and vetiver. Serene, woody-floral and Japanese in spirit.
To me this smells like sitting on tatami in a quiet Kyoto room while someone prepares tea in the corner. Sakura blossom opens delicate and fleeting, the way real cherry blossoms are — there for a week and gone — with sobacha, roasted buckwheat tea, adding a warm nutty calm underneath. Tuberose and jasmine absolute bloom slowly, never shouting. Australian sandalwood, cedar and vetiver ground it in pale, dry wood, like the room itself. It is serene in a way few perfumes attempt: a woody-floral haiku, composed the way flowers are arranged in ikebana — every stem exactly where it should be. Beginner-friendly.
