Composition
Encre Noire Pour Elle is the feminine counterpart to Encre Noire, composed by Christine Nagel. Bergamot, ambrette and freesia open the composition, leading into a heart of Turkish rose, osmanthus and kephalis. Haitian vetiver, Texas cedar and musk carry the signature vetiver theme in a softer, floral-musky register.
This is Encre Noire's ink diluted with rosewater — the feminine counterpart, and it is quietly stunning. Bergamot, ambrette, and freesia open like rain on a grey silk scarf, fresh and soft, and then Turkish rose and osmanthus bloom through: the rose is dark and velvety, the osmanthus apricot-sweet, like a garden glimpsed through fog. Haitian vetiver and cedar ground it, so it never floats away, and the musk keeps it close to skin. It is woody, floral, elegant — the ink is still there, but someone has written a love letter with it. Beginner-friendly.
