Composition
A woody-chypre extrait from Paris Corner's Emir line. Mandarin orange, grapefruit and bergamot open bright, a heart of Damask rose and blackcurrant follows, and patchouli, sandalwood, musk, labdanum and vanilla form the base.
To me this smells like a royal garden at golden hour — mandarin and grapefruit sparkling in the first breath, juice running down your wrist, and then the Damask rose arrives, deep pink and velvety, with blackcurrant darkening it like jam at the edges. Patchouli and sandalwood rise underneath, warm and dry, labdanum and vanilla glowing through them like the sun dropping behind the garden wall. It is lush without being heavy, regal without trying too hard. The blackcurrant never fully leaves, a dark sweetness at the edges. Beginner-friendly.
