Élégance Animale is the animalic opus of the Noir Premier collection. Saffron, peach and geranium open the composition, leading to a heart of rose, jasmine and gurjum balsam. A leather accord and sandalwood dry down the composition.
Scent story
This smells like opening a vintage leather trunk full of silk saris that have been stored with attar for decades. Saffron and peach open strange and gorgeous — honeyed spice over ripe fruit — geranium adding a green, almost minty sharpness. Then the florals arrive, rose and jasmine, but they are not innocent here; gurjum balsam gives them a resinous, animalic warmth. The leather in the base is the real story: soft, worn, slightly wild, over sandalwood. It is called Élégance Animale and both words are doing work. This is not a scent, it is a temperament.
