Composition
A limited edition of A*Men launched in February 2016, created by Jacques Huclier around roasted tonka bean. A fresh mint opening and a lavender heart contrast the sweet, gourmand base of tonka bean, coffee, cacao, vanilla, licorice and patchouli. Reviewers describe it as an Irish-coffee take on the A*Men DNA — bold, sweet and cozy.
To me this smells like an Irish coffee served in a leather booth at midnight — first the cold slap of mint, almost like toothpaste, lavender humming underneath like a barbershop memory. Then the tonka rolls in: roasted, nutty, drenched in coffee and cacao, with vanilla and licorice making it thick and dark as molasses. Patchouli rumbles at the bottom like bass through a floor. It is bold and sweet and completely unapologetic — a dessert you wear. Spray light; this one fills a room and doesn't ask permission. Beginner-friendly.
