Composition
A 2001 fragrance inspired by George Sand and the year of her birth. Pineapple, peach and tiare flower open into nutmeg, cloves and white florals, over patchouli, vanilla, benzoin, musk and sandalwood. Lush, romantic and tropical-floral.
This smells like a candlelit dinner where dessert arrived before the main course and nobody minded. Roasted pineapple and peach glazed with clove and nutmeg, tiare flower and jasmine glowing like the chandeliers, and then it melts into vanilla and benzoin — warm, golden, almost edible. There is real opulence here, the kind that comes from too much of everything good. Patchouli and sandalwood keep it from floating away entirely. The lily-of-the-valley threads through like tiny white bells, keeping the tropical fruit from going jammy. It is excess, but excess with excellent manners. Beginner-friendly.
