Scent story

To me this is a rum distillery crossed with a vanilla plantation — clove and rum dark and boozy at the top, bitter orange and petitgrain cutting through like a knife. Then the woods: guaiac, vetiver, sandalwood, ylang-ylang, like the inside of an oak cask. The base is Madagascar vanilla, real vanilla, deep and almost savory, over amber, tonka, tolu balsam, with a whisper of leather and musk. This is not a cupcake vanilla; it is a cigar-and-armchair vanilla, complex and grown-up. The thinking person's gourmand. Not for beginners — beginners stay away.
