Composition
A 2010 leather fragrance. Cardamom and anise open into leather and juniper, over castoreum and opoponax. Animalic, dark and uncompromising.
To me this smells like the inside of a tannery at closing time — dark, animal, and completely uncompromising. Cardamom and anise give a spiced, almost medicinal opening, like breath in cold air, before the leather takes over: not the polished kind, but raw hide, oiled and worn, with juniper cutting through like crushed needles underfoot. Then the castoreum arrives and the room goes quiet — that deep, warm, unmistakably animalic hum, like a stable after the horses have been brushed, softened only slightly by opoponax resin glowing underneath. This is leather as a second skin, not an accessory. It does not flirt; it declares. Not for beginners — beginners stay away.
