Composition
Burberry Touch for Women is listed on Fragrantica as a 1998 Eau de Parfum, created by Michel Girard. Red pepper, cassia, blackberry and blackcurrant open over a lush floral heart of lily, peony, peach and tuberose, with cedar, oakmoss and vanilla in the base. Some retailers date it to 2000 alongside the men's Touch.
To me this smells like a fruit chaat cart in a Delhi market in October, when every berry is in season at once. Blackberry, black currant, cranberry, raspberry — a whole crushed bowl of them, tart and juicy, with red pepper and cassia scattered over the top like the chaat masala the vendor shakes on without asking. Then the flowers arrive: rose oil, peony, jasmine, tuberose, all softening the fruit into something like a silk dupatta. Vanilla and tonka settle underneath like the wooden cart itself, worn smooth. It's abundant, generous, a little chaotic — the smell of having too much of a good thing. Beginner-friendly.
